Another Christmas has come and gone. This one was special for us since it was Mayas 1st Christmas. Maya is now 8 1/2 months old and Devon is 4 1/2. Devon's favorite holiday (by far) is Christmas. He loves everything about it: the presents, the music, the holiday lights and yeah and presents (again). This year we tried to instill the "giving" part of the holiday and was very impressed with Devon. He (with a little encouragement) gave away a huge bag of toys. He gave them to a family with two boys (4 and 2). Hopefully it made thier Christmas much brighter. We recently took a family trip to Lake Tahoe, CA. My husband had a business trip and the kids and I tagged along. We had a great time that we will remember for years. We took a boat ride across the lake, a gondola ride up to "Heavenly" and many more. Here are a couple of my favorite images of the trip.

I recently had the honor of taking pictures of a lovely family, The Longs. Chris, Cynthia, Victoria and Cameron are a wonderful family who obviously share lots of love and laughs together. We met at Power Ranch to take the pictures and took them to 5 different locations around the lake and property. Victoria and Cameron were so funny together. Victoria is georgous and I loved photgraphing her. Cameron is such a little character and loved to get drive Victoria and his parents crazy. They had to bribe him with McDonalds to get him to cooperate. I can completely relate since I have done the same thing with my son many times. Chris and Cynthia are an adorable couple. She is Canadian and he is from New York. They are both chiropractors at "Back on Track" in Chandler.

Today I had the privilege of taking pictures of two adorable brothers (Austin and Jordon). They both had so much personality and I had a blast getting to know them.

Getting 4 kids to sit still and smile for a picture can be challenging. It typically takes lots of patience and many many shots. This picture shows a some a small insight into what happens behind the scenes of that "perfect" picture.

We recently took a trip to play in the snow. These are taken outside of Flagstaff AZ. Devon always talks about making a snow angel and finally got his chance. He loved every minute of it.

In Novemeber we took a family trip to the Grand Canyon (South Rim) and Sedona. We had a wonderful time with our friends. It was amazing to see the canyon with so many shades of light at different times of day. The red rocks of Sedona are always amazing but seeing the reds, oranges and yellows of the Fall colors was amazing. It was a rainy day which I loved. It was amazing to catch a rainbow while we were there. My family at the Canyon and in the Red Rocks.

My little girl will turn 8 months old on 12/5. I thought I would get an early start on her 8 month photoshoot. Here are 2 examples of her pictures. She is my little angel with a twinkle in her eye that I know will bring me lots of worry/trouble soon.

I am super excited today. I ordered my business cards for "Kelly Dixon Photography". I am advertising in my son's school Christmas pagents program which motivated me to actually take the time to get it down. I like the way they turned out! Let me know your feedback!
